So it looks like Ohio governor John Kasich is urging electors to not change their vote for him. Is this really happening? Will we actually see the result of an election actually be affected? We already have at least two Texan electors who say they will not vote for Trump. How is this actually happening?

It would be interesting since if Trump loses the election because of this then it might be his supporters' turn to whine and bitch. Maybe they could join up with the Hillary supporters and have sex. No reason for either of them to be virgins.

Victory Speech

Brexit, the victory of Donald Trump, the Impeachment of the South Korean President, the victory of Duterte, and other world-class events occurred, even though we did not own billions of dollars, and even though we do not have a princess by our side.
We were plainly lucky. The CNF of the Guardians is so fortunate that we can indirectly influence the world, though we also used our wits in the process. Anyone can oppose Imperialistic interests. Anyone with Einstein’s luck and tactics.
We Filipinos can be happy, even without wealth. And we can influence the world, covertly. We can appear younger, happier, even without the princesses.
The defeat of Hillary Clinton is proof, that wealth does not guarantee victory. Television networks do not dictate the outcome of elections. Clinton’s supporters were not as fortunate, nor as blooming as the CNF of the Guardians.
And so, I say: In sickness and in health, shall we brag, and rejoice. Brand me as a villain, or as a demon, if you will. But this villain has a happy ending.
I have learned how to love, but my enemies will never fully recover. I do not fear to live alone, even in a damaged world. But my enemies can never quell my happiness. And they will always live in fear of my luck.
-With love, from the Philippines.

Does Trump know that he now has the power to veto bills? It feels scary right now because of the ambiguity that comes with his election. He is inexperienced and has never dealt with political matters before.

Trump has stated that there are several issues he feels should be left up to the states, but what happens if the Republicans manage to pass a bill that damages the country yet manages to convince Trump that it will make America great again.

The beautiful part is that in such a likely scenario then the Republicans have someone to direct the blame toward. Hopwfully, Trump's focus with his name brand, pun intended, is enough from letting the U.S. House and Senate damage his family name.

>They'll spend the next 4-8 years blaming Obama for everything they fuck up in the next 4-8 years.
That's how politics work. You spend the first 2-3 years trying to fix the shit the previous administration put in place, and your final year setting up things to shit on the next administration.

Why do you think the only presidents that have made progress have served two terms. It's because they know how to fix the shit they created during their 1st term allowing them to spend more time doing their actual job.

President 16/12/23(Fri)15:41 No. 974

I'm actually curious now if he could. Of course, the american people are highly unlikely to vote for someone who wasn't born in the US. I guess it hinges on how you interpret the comma between "States" and "at".

I think the intention was to have this phrase:
>or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution
Include non-natural born citizens residing in the newly created republic--which would still have been a significant percentage of the colonial population at that time. Some of the first presidents were actually born in the UK, but resided in the US at the time the constitution was adopted.

If you interpret that comma as closing the clause initiated by the comma between "Citizen" and "or" then "at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution" also applies to "natural born" citizens, which is sort of redundant in that it would mean no one from anywhere could be president until the constitution were adopted.

First Amendment Endangered? President 16/11/17(Thu)06:57 No. 733 [Reply]

File 147936224729.jpg - (44.98KB , 450x390 , first amendment.jpg )

Can someone please explain to me why pushing to pass laws in favor of one specific religious ideology isn't considered unconstitutional as they could end up forcing their ideals on other religious people who do not share that religion? The first amendment guarantees that we have the freedom to practice any religion we should choose. Laws prohibting same-sex marriage, for example, feels unconstitional to me because the people who are not in favor of it most likely aren't due to religious reason. As far as I am aware, nobody made a law saying that a religious institution HAS to marry two men or two women, but going to the state-level and banning it out of religious reason? How is this not forcing that religious ideology onto other people?

What concerns me about this next administration isn't Donald J. Trump, or the majority of Republicans, or even the fact that things are messy right now, but what I am afraid of most of all are the few Republicans who happen to be Evangelicals looking to completely disrespect the first amendment and pass laws only benefiting their religious ideology, which will most likely be any Christian branches. This fear worsens when you realize that "Islamophobia" is a hot topic right now and would most certainly be used as a way to completely defecate on the Constitution.

I always hear right wingers, such as Alex Jones, worry about losing their freedom of expression as well as losing their second amendment rights. Yet when it comes to issues such as this they seem to be all for overturning the first amendment. Please tell me there isn't a chance that the Evangelicals cannot do any long lasting damage to the United States of America?
