To outer space, every one of us! How did you feel about the new He-Man? I thought it was pretty cool although I haven't seen the original.

Yourgay!!OxAzMwZTMv 12/03/25(Sun)06:50 No. 22673

It's different, but still good and still makes me nostalgia. Looking back the original was corny as hell. But you have to realize that it was made in the early 80's. Besides I think at 28 I should have more refined tastes than as a 4 year old catching reruns.

The Herculoids and Mask.

What was the cartoon that started with a narrative about how the moon would crash into the Earth in 1998?

Anonymous 12/04/02(Mon)02:23 No. 22708

I believe you are thinking of Thundarr the Barbarian.

"The year 1994, from out of space, comes a runaway planet, hurtling between the Earth and the moon, unleashing cosmic destruction. Man's civilization is cast in ruin. Two thousand years later, Earth is reborn. A strange new world rises from the old. A world of savagery, super science, and sorcery. But one man bursts his bonds to fight for justice. With his companions Ookla the Mok and Princess Ariel, he pits his strength, his courage, and his fabulous sun sword against the forces of evil. He is Thundarr the Barbarian!"

Anonymous 12/04/04(Wed)06:42 No. 22721

Seconded, although Rescue Rangers and Batman: The Animated Series were right on its heels.
I never stopped liking cartoons, even as I grew up, so the favorite position was eventually yielded to Pokemon, then Ed Edd n' Eddy, and Avatar: The Last Airbender; my favorite show currently airing is Adventure Time.

Frogging Frenchie !
How remembered 'Jayce et les Conquérants de la lumière' ?! hum ??

Growing up there were many cartoons to my liking, like; Brad 13/04/06(Sat)17:53 No. 23514

Transformers : More Than Meets The Eye.
It debuted in 1984.
I loved their disguises, particularly Megatron's. Whenever he did a back-flip, simultaneously transformed and then landed in a decep's hand to be used as the most powerful hand-gun a transformer could wield, was just AWESOME!
The Punisher and Megatron are a dream-team!

Brad 13/04/06(Sat)18:06 No. 23515

Beverly Hills Teens.
It debuted in 1987.
Bianca Dupree was GREAT! Here schemes always back-fired. However, on occasion, there were glimpses that there was more to her. When she saved her rival Lark from falling of a cliff while skiing, she backed out of the skiing-race making Lark the winner. That shows some integrity.
It was surprising to see that she could match Radley in sports and actually had a fun date with him. A nice break from her chasing Troy.
Radley himself was likable because of his fun-loving nature and a great contrast to Bianca's more serious nature. I also LOVED Radley's Surf-copter.
Chester McTech was also very likable. His inventions were always a treat to see.
Wish the characters Shanelle Spencer and Blaze Summers had more screen-time though

Anonymous 13/04/07(Sun)05:20 No. 23517

Whatever you do, if you value your brain cells, do NOT go back and watch Silverhawks.

You may think, "Oh' all 80's cartoons were kind of silly, how bad can it possibly be?"

I can sum it up in one sentence: It expects you to take the phrase "Planet of the Mimes" seriously.

Gaze upon that phrase. Let the concept sink into your brain. And then know, that's just the merest tip of the iceberg. You can take Thundercats sober, but I'd recommend you have your brain-numbing chemical of choice on hand before going back and trying Silverhawks.

Anonymous 13/04/26(Fri)21:24 No. 23540

>>23537 GO-GO-gadget copter!

I LOVED the 'go-go-gadget' stuff, Penny and Brain solving the case and preventing Gadget from being assassinated by MAD.
Inspector Gadget himself was HILARIOUS!

I miss Don Adams, Cree Summer and Frank Welker as their voices.

The Mask: The Animated Series

The Adventures of Batman & Robin

/co/ John+Thomas+"Jack"+Ward+III 13/12/10(Tue)21:34 No. 23774

Here are a few that make me feel young again....
The Original "Spider-Man" Animated series (1963)
"Corageous Cat and Minute Mouse" ('63)
"Dick Tracy"(Yes there was a cartoon show), 1961
Battle of the Planets" 1975
"Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids" 1972-85
Heck, I'm older than all you "Kiddies", and I remember when cartoons were actually shown on the networks on Saturday Mornings; I even remember when "Speed Racer" and Gigantor" were in first-run Syndication, back in the Sixties. If you have any questions or comments about those shows, feel free to contact me ("The Expert")...
BTW, does anyone remember the educational "School House Rock" shorts ABC used to air? Just Curious.. Jawamax 8<{D}

I had to watch School House Rock in elementary school.
Everyone kept singing "I'm Just a Bill" all the time because my name's Bill.

Most of mine are listed, adding to the list:
Ulysses 31
A sci-fi reimagining of Homer's 'The Odyssey', a Japanese and French collaboration.

The Mysterious Cities of Gold
Years later coming back to this it holds up really well, this is a heritage cartoon I guess you could say in that I plan to show them to my kids whenever I get them. There were documentary episodes to accompany each cartoon episode that explained the events and customs from the new world the characters encountered, recommended viewing.
