I had a date with a girl yesterday. But, like every other date I've had in the past seven or eight years, it ended miserably. I've given up on trying to be interesting. Life is just /eh/.

But in other news, I am drinking Diet Dr. Pepper.

As do I. It really is a delicious beverage.

I never have acquired the taste for diet drinks. The aftertaste of the fake sugar still puts me off.

Cherry Dr Pepper, however, is something I appreciate because it very nearly approaches the flavor of Cheerwine. Another convincing Cheerwine imitation is Rockstar Revolt Black Cherry.

I feel sorry that it took you 7-8 years to give up, but I'm not sure what's worse: Giving up only after a couple of years or at least putting in the effort like you did.

I hope you enjoyed your Dr. Pepper.

Dear John,

That is a shame indeed. I wish you luck in your future endeavors. I, too, drink Dr Pepper, though it is of the regular sort.

P.S. - Hey, Joe. Doing well so far. Your next step should be obvious enough. It lays in OP's riveting image.

Dear John,

I met somebody of interest myself; unfortunately, it didn't quite pan out. I know I have never had much luck in these things, but it's never too terrible to try again.

I hope you can bring yourself to try again. Or not, either way is fine really.

All the best.
