This may not qualify too much as "history" even though it takes place over ten years ago, but there's a forum game going on. You play as a country. It is a game in that it has underlying mechanics and a list of possible actions to undertake (either diplomatic, economic, covert or military in character). The RP is on the light side, you don't need to write walls of texts. It also requires little time commitment to play since it's turn-based.
