should GMs need consent from players to have NPCs rape PCs? Anonymous 17/02/21(Tue)12:53 No. 118181 [Reply]

Reading stuff like http://www.gamegrene.com/node/447 all the namefags are tipping their morality hats do I'd like to know what anons think of it.

To me it seems like biased pandering. What if I am fine if my character is raped but absolutely would be upset if my character is killed off? Why are my wishes not respected?

What if a player loves their character's magic sword. Does the GM need consent for a goblin to steal it? If not then why different logic for character virginity?

I guarantee you, if you think that you, as GM, are capable of managing a rape storyline that is not gratuitous, you are in fact NOT capable of managing a rape storyline that is not gratuitous.

Players should all know the nature of the game before entering, if their character gets raped then that should've been a known possibility from the start.

So my character came to an untimely death. this i accept as my own fault. Though knowing my dm i expected more roleplaying and an opportunity to have said more but alas I died. to my dismay. So i rolled. Now he's hardcore no reroll and rolls go in order no moving. So i got lucky and rolled well but not into my comfort zone of classes. I love rogues, not big on spellcasters but i can if i have too. so i'd love some help. Also we are running undermountain and he's totally radomizing it. So thanks in advance. Also i start at level 5. just to help and only nono is no dragonborn.
Strength 10
Dexterity10
Constitution 8
Intelligence 13
Wisdom15
Charisma14

Thanks osrry for shit spelling. to lazy to fix. Also totally down to play a hot chick who uses it to her advantage .

we already have a bard Hisfattness 17/04/23(Sun)05:07 No. 121208

Also don't really want to play a bard just not my style of rping. I figured with race bonus and level bonus to stats i could get a little wiggle room. Was considering mystic. Think it would be fun.

>>
Anonymous 17/04/26(Wed)10:22 No. 121329

With Wisdom as your best stat, you'll want to capitalize on that; I'd suggest going Druid. Wild Shape will help get past any drawbacks from your physical stats, and Shaleileigh will give you some offensive power that uses your Wisdom.

With your Charisma, you can also multiclass into Warlock or Sorcerer if you want some more offensive magic.

Your constitution score means you won't be able to take too many hits, but if you pick a race with a con bonus, that'll help mitigate it a bit.

had a dm that did this, the result?
an awful lot of character deaths. Want to be a rogue? you play a melee wizard- then roll again
have a catchphrase, make the death memorable.

Thank you. Took care of that.

On similar subject - is there a safe to acquire "zip file password remover" out there? I am not familiar with this at all either. Quick scan came up with names like nsis which makes it into an EXE you must click on. Um, interesting and very Admiral Ackbar-y!

Google, or design your own. The 3.0ed book "Stronghold Builders Handbook" may give you some ideas.
Also, your OP did not even resemble anything coherent, and your second one wasn't much better. Carry on.

Askin for suggestion: the simplest medieval fantasy rpg system for childre Anonymous 17/04/11(Tue)01:37 No. 120704 [Reply]

As per title.
I wanted to introduce a group of 6 to 8 yo kids to classic medieval fantasy rpg, but I need a system that is very, very rule-light.
Pathfinder Beginner Box is already far over the top, I'd like something that gives them a minimum of customization and just requires them to add simple bonuses to their rolls.
Any suggestion?
And of course, if anyone knows of any system that is not only rule-light, but specifically designed for children, that would be even better.

Thanks.
From what I can see (don't have time to check thoroughly, atm), Hero Kids is closer to my personal tastes.
It isn't free like First Fable, though.
Any idea if Hero Kids was ever shared in the (now buried) request thread? Got any link to it?

Hey all. I have been working on a Martial Arts system inspired by Xianxia and Shonen settings. I have hit a bit of a road block so I could use feedback on the mechanics of it.

The PDF can be found here (http://www.mediafire.com/file/4f4nrlt6t3w819f/1.51.pdf)

The basic idea is that PCs are martial artist mystics (Supernatural powers and superhuman capabilities) in Fantastic Asia. Mechanically it is point based character progression and an additive dice pool resolution. On top of that, there is tactical combat with a unique timing based initiative system as well as resource management for Physical and Spiritual energy.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Unisystem) Anon!moNoTOnous 17/03/12(Sun)18:52 No. 119357 [Reply]
119357

File 148934114192.png - (115.75KB , 497x424 , d0.png )

When I first learned that there was actually a roleplaying game about this (The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Other Strangeness), I knew I had to get my hands on a copy of it. Then I realized two things that made the game unsuitable for what I wanted to do with it: first, it was the Palladium System, which I find awkward and cumbersome. Yet, what made me discard this was that ALL NPCS must be some kind of animals. A core element of every cartoon adaptation and all comic versions -starting with the original Mirage Comics- was the "everything and the kitchen sink" cast, featuring cyborgs, robots, aliens, mundane-but-extremely-badass humans, and so on.
So, I thought the Unisystem, using literally a single dice for all the throws that matter, and having an assload of supplementary material, would fit my needs. What I needed was Qualities and Drawbacks that I could use to generate characters that were:
>Ninjas
>Mutants
>Robots/cyborgs
>Psionics
>Any combination of the afforementioned

Two of the solutions came right from the All Flesh Must Be Eaten supplements. If you're unfamiliar with AFMBE's supplements, you shall know they're mostly "Zombies and Shit", in which you could easily remove the "Zombie" part and you'd have a solid book for "Shit: the RPG". For instance, if you take out the zombies from "Fistful O' Zombies" you still have a nice book for Wild West and spaghetti western campaigns, and if you take the walking dead out of "Argh! Thar Be Zombies!" you'd have a pirate RPG sourcebook, with rules for nautical combat and swashbuckling stuff.

So I took All Tomorrow's Zombies (Zombies in spaaaace!) and took the whole Robot/Cyborg shit, plus some futuristic weapons and armor for good measure, and moved on to the second most important book.

Enter The Zombie has all the martial arts/gun fu/chi techniques down to a science, so I took the whole thing, plus armor and weapons. Having the Ninja part taken care of, I needed to sort out the Turtle Part.

>"I had fun with this shit. I'll leave it here so you can try it if you wish."
Read the whole post or you might end asking things already answered.

>You must really hate palladium to not take the minute it took to find the information.

Half that and half "not gonna go chasing things that might or might not be there when I could use the stuff I already know and master"

>Myself, I've always been less than excited over the Unisystem after seeing it in action with Buffy. It just seemed 'meh'.
No, no, no. Unisystem comes in two flavors, Cinematic (Angel, Buffy, Ghosts of Albion, Army of Darkness, Beyond Human) and Classic (All Flesh Must Be Eaten, Armageddon, Conspiracy X 2.0, Terra Primate and WitchCraft). I favor Classic over the simplified Cinematic, for it's more strict with the rules.

>However, I can use the same search to very easily tell that the supplements cover All Flesh Must Be Eaten, Armageddon, Conspiracy X 2.0, Terra Primate, WitchCraft, Angel, Army of Darkness and Ghosts of Albion. Took me all of a few seconds.
The supplements do NOT cover Army of Darkness, Ghosts Of Albion or Terra Primate, nor are they supplements to anything else. Maybe you should have taken another couple of seconds.

#1 I read the posts, just trying to get a conformation of intent.

#2 Oh I understand [I have systems I dislike too], just pointing out that it REALLY didn't take any time to find out the info you said you didn't have.

#3 I've also seen All Flesh Must Be Eaten and wasn't any more excited about it's being Classic vs Cinematic. Buffy was just my first 'meh' and was an example, but my comments in my posts cover both 'flavors'.

#4 "Army of Darkness, Ghosts Of Albion or Terra Primate": You yourself note them just one paragraph up in your post, so I'm guessing you are arguing some kind of semantics [and I checked and they all have "GAME SYSTEM: UNISYSTEM". I'm using supplement to mean something that's adding on to the core system. [Unisystem [core] + supplement [setting book].

#5 You seem to like Unisystem, so I'll say Happy Gaming.

My posts where never really about 'one system is better' but letting everyone know it's super easy, in this day and age, to find out what books come along with a system and find out that they cover. It's not like the old days when you had to track down a physical book and thumb through the pages to see it'll suit you. We ARE on a site where you can most likely download them all and 'thumb' through them digitally if you wish if you wish though.

File 148725239039.jpg - (93.66KB , 625x250 , Mordheim-FEATURED1.jpg )

I'm searching for fitting rpg system with given requirements:

- no theater, entirely strategic decisions
- no hex/square grid
- using miniatures/tokens and measuring distance
- preferably with complex terrains like elevation, bushes, mud, water etc
- no religion/politics/fate/customs etc topics that you have to know to play the game
- no mordheim becouse simplistic and weird magic system

Any help anons?

Anonymous 17/03/04(Sat)17:27 No. 118888

My first thought is, if you don't want theater, you don't want an RPG. All RPGs are theater to some degree.
Almost any game that uses squares or hexes, can be switched to just using a ruler. I do this in my 5e game sometimes. 6 inches is 30ft.

And can you explain a bit more about what you mean by "no religion/politics/fate/customs etc" Are you referring to meta-mechanics like fate points or something else?

>>
Anonymous 17/03/06(Mon)18:00 No. 119030

You don't want an RPG, you want a skirmish wargame.

>>
Saul+Dagenham 17/03/08(Wed)14:15 No. 119131

That's not an RPG system, that's a detailed dungeon crawler/skirmish game.
Look for Song of Blade and Heroes with some add-ons (or maybe just the new edition), it has a detailed campaign and development system, with lots of options.
