Guys, I'm the storyteller on a Mage campaign that start yesterday and my stories are usually quite random. I usually invent facts and events right in the heat of the moment and the stories are crazy and fun (but with a lot of action and mystery). To improve this random factor, I would like you to suggest events or strange things that I could implement in the game. What happened so far:
> The session ended with the car in free fall at ten thousand meters high; a burning driver (who is a clone of one of the characters), a white powder floating inside the car, fresh fish smashed inside the vehicle, $ 10,000 that is leaving through the glove box and a monkey is holding a pistol whose bullets can never be traced.

What comes next? It does not have to make sense. Then I try to find a way to connect all events.

Anonymous 17/10/24(Tue)11:11 No. 131022

OP here. How things have come to this:

> Characters have discovered copies of themselves (clones);
> Someone is killing the clones (another clone that is a clone killer manipulated by an obscure religion);
> Technocracy is interested in the clones, but in a conflict a Man in Black was killed and left a briefcase: inside the case was a sleeping monkey and a pistol;
> All clones have a serious genetic fault that will lead to death: the monkey has a genetic sequence that needs to be synthesized to get the genetic fault corrected;
> The pistol in the suitcase can be used to kill people or animals, but the murderer will never be arrested for the crime (and the bullets are never tracked);
> A clone of one of the characters appears with a car so they can escape;
> Inside the car there are 5 kilos of fresh fish and 4 kilos of a white powder (the clone says that the fish and the powder are important, but that will explain later). In the glove holder there are ten thousand dollars in 50's notes (nobody knows where the money came from);
> The car breaks the veil to the umbra during the escape, and to try to escape the driver (a clone) realizes a magic, that fails mizeravelmente and the car appears to ten thousand meters of height, in free fall;
> The paradox sets fire to the driver;

so, you have no chapter 2 or endgame? try this: the characters "think" they are clones, convinced by men in black, to get them to use monkey to find cure. they backtrack to the mad scientist lab where they find their own clones, and discover they are themselves REAL, but made part of an experiment from long ago, which is what originally triggered their awakenings. whatever teacher they had early on is part of the cabal to make the clones, in an attempt to split the magic of the heroes into fragments, creating clone magicks armies for an upcoming assault in other realms against the technocracy. Have men in black trace monkey to first lab for either giant battle, or a chaos screen the heroes can escape in. Oh, and since the car is already involved on a mage level, with an intelligent monkey, have a lever allow the car to fly, and the monkey have low level mind effects, like telepathy, to get its thoughts across.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Unisystem) Anon!moNoTOnous 17/03/12(Sun)18:52 No. 119357 [Reply]

File 148934114192.png - (115.75KB , 497x424 , d0.png )

When I first learned that there was actually a roleplaying game about this (The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Other Strangeness), I knew I had to get my hands on a copy of it. Then I realized two things that made the game unsuitable for what I wanted to do with it: first, it was the Palladium System, which I find awkward and cumbersome. Yet, what made me discard this was that ALL NPCS must be some kind of animals. A core element of every cartoon adaptation and all comic versions -starting with the original Mirage Comics- was the "everything and the kitchen sink" cast, featuring cyborgs, robots, aliens, mundane-but-extremely-badass humans, and so on.
So, I thought the Unisystem, using literally a single dice for all the throws that matter, and having an assload of supplementary material, would fit my needs. What I needed was Qualities and Drawbacks that I could use to generate characters that were:
>Ninjas
>Mutants
>Robots/cyborgs
>Psionics
>Any combination of the afforementioned

Two of the solutions came right from the All Flesh Must Be Eaten supplements. If you're unfamiliar with AFMBE's supplements, you shall know they're mostly "Zombies and Shit", in which you could easily remove the "Zombie" part and you'd have a solid book for "Shit: the RPG". For instance, if you take out the zombies from "Fistful O' Zombies" you still have a nice book for Wild West and spaghetti western campaigns, and if you take the walking dead out of "Argh! Thar Be Zombies!" you'd have a pirate RPG sourcebook, with rules for nautical combat and swashbuckling stuff.

So I took All Tomorrow's Zombies (Zombies in spaaaace!) and took the whole Robot/Cyborg shit, plus some futuristic weapons and armor for good measure, and moved on to the second most important book.

Enter The Zombie has all the martial arts/gun fu/chi techniques down to a science, so I took the whole thing, plus armor and weapons. Having the Ninja part taken care of, I needed to sort out the Turtle Part.

#1 I read the posts, just trying to get a conformation of intent.

#2 Oh I understand [I have systems I dislike too], just pointing out that it REALLY didn't take any time to find out the info you said you didn't have.

#3 I've also seen All Flesh Must Be Eaten and wasn't any more excited about it's being Classic vs Cinematic. Buffy was just my first 'meh' and was an example, but my comments in my posts cover both 'flavors'.

#4 "Army of Darkness, Ghosts Of Albion or Terra Primate": You yourself note them just one paragraph up in your post, so I'm guessing you are arguing some kind of semantics [and I checked and they all have "GAME SYSTEM: UNISYSTEM". I'm using supplement to mean something that's adding on to the core system. [Unisystem [core] + supplement [setting book].

#5 You seem to like Unisystem, so I'll say Happy Gaming.

My posts where never really about 'one system is better' but letting everyone know it's super easy, in this day and age, to find out what books come along with a system and find out that they cover. It's not like the old days when you had to track down a physical book and thumb through the pages to see it'll suit you. We ARE on a site where you can most likely download them all and 'thumb' through them digitally if you wish if you wish though.

also, you mixed several rpgs just to get the combo you wanted instead of reviewing the possibilities in the existing sets. gurps has sooooo many suppliments, it will have what you want somewhere. original marvel series could do it. hell, there was a world of darkness suppliment call bygone bestiary that would have made mutant animals possible, and thus WoD a contender.

What are your thoughts on the upcoming Link Summoning method and changes to the rules?

I'm so damn worried it's going to kill the game for good this time. Being forced to adapt a new summoning method unlike all of the previous new summoning installments.

I dunno man, this is going to really tear up my strategies. I'm worried I won't be able to tap enough swamps to get the mana I need to summon anything. It's going to be brutal.

the game seems like is´s going to slow down the board alot, which is a good thing however the way it´s used it goddamn retarded.
syncro, xzy and pendium allready broke the fusion and ritual so this may or may not make it comepleatly unplayable. but there is still hope brothers

Well Mageguru is back scaring people again. Giving too many smart talk, strip you guys down your confidence. When asked how to do it, remain silent. Until you offer to him your pdf for so called "professional" cleaning, then that's it. He got all your personal info. You mess with him, he post your identity. Did that before here to some Gaisano guy whose working on bringing these scrambling of link back to its original direct link.

I don't really mind his nonsense.

WFRP 4e details emerge from PAX Unplugged Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay Newsource 17/11/20(Mon)16:03 No. 131068 [Reply]

File 151119019243.jpg - (100.91KB , 550x275 , wfrp 4e.jpg )

Zweihänder guys have some news to report on WFRP 4e. In brief, it's not coming this year, and they're not planning on converting The Enemy Within:

Q: We’ve heard this game will be out by the end of the year, is it still on track for a release around Christmas?

A: He has seen the cover art and it’s great, but it is very unlikely to be out by the end of the calendar year. What they meant was that it will be out before the end of the Fiscal Year, or sometime in the early Summer of 2018

Q: There is a ton of great Warhammer material published in 1e / 2e, will you be re-issuing campaigns with updated rulesets?

A: Very, very unlikely. Little to no money to be made selling products already widely available. Fans are encouraged to update the existing campaigns on their own. Some conversation guidance may be offered in the future.

Q: We’ll be returning to the old world, right? None of this Age of Sigmar Silliness?

A: Both systems will be offered with different focuses, the Fantasy version will support a roleplaying focus and the Age of Signmar system will be different (but similar) so that it can support a combat focus.

Message too long. Click here to view the full text.

Does anyone here play Fate / FAE? If so, what have you played? What do you like most about the system? What least do you like?

I'm preparing a Supers campaign, but I did not like the Venture City rules, so I'm working on my own ideas (I'll post here as soon as I'm done).

Fred Hicks is an asshole in my eyes, but the same can be said about Daniel Fox... whose name derails threads like this. Fate is an okay system, but I refuse to support Evil Hat or its ilk.

I don't play Fate, but if I did, I would probably start with Dresden Files RPG, so this is important info for me.

Alright, muties! Has anyone had experiences with the Fallout PnP. If so, how did it go? Also, any house rules to make it less cumbersome?

>>
Anonymous 17/10/02(Mon)20:28 No. 130815

Don't like it much, trying waaaay too hard to be the old computer games. I like the Savage conversion that has been posted here once or twice, easy enough to find with a search.

>>
Anonymous 17/10/24(Tue)21:08 No. 131036

A handful of house rules make it play like Fallout (true fallout, lol). That said, as other anon said, using the Savage conversion is easier. But, PnP provides that authentic experience... depending on autistic you feel that day. Personally, I love it! (Again, with house rules)
