DMCA Takedown: Requests Thread Anonymous ## Admin ## 17/04/06(Thu)08:48 No. 120577 Locked Stickied

The Requests Thread (yes the whole thing) was subject of a DMCA Takedown Notice filed by HEART OF THE DEERNICORN.

We tried to negotiate with the claimant to narrow the scope of the claim, but he did not respond.

Staff will make a new requests thread in a while.

Improper capitalization of "really" and decidedly nonstandard use of triple exclamation marks.

This is B- work.

RE: Shenanigans Dave 17/04/11(Tue)09:11 No. 120717

The author of Fall of Magic has stated on his twitter account, "For the record I only DCMI'd Fall of Magic, not the whole thread. Taking it down was the Admin's decision. As if I had any control over that". I know it's likely he didn't completely follow through with due process to clarify that, but can't this be taken as legal proof, and restore the request thread?

Cheers
Dave

Naturally, broken pride leads to insults, where less educated people mostly resort to when embarrassed in public.

Understandable because that is what they only know of and will ever learn from their unwavering pride and constant slacking around.

Comparing the lot of you to wolves is flattering, considering most of you fa/tg/uys are barely capable of lifting your own weight.

The claimant clearly DMCA'd the entire thread, and sent a second email specifically asking the thread to be removed after we asked him for file URLs instead of the thread URL. He never mentioned Fall of Magic until we removed the thread. We have discussed this with him after a further exchange of emails, and included to him a full timeline of emails, with pictures and SMTP timestamps and IDs. We believe we have settled this matter with him.

As for why the new requests thread is taking so long, we're currently debating rule and policy changes and a guide on how to make proper DMCAs so this shit doesn't happen again. On the one hand, we like the newly vibrant /tg/ community. On the other hand, most of us have jobs and shit now and don't need any additional liabilities sneaking up from behind us.

Stay tuned.

>>
Mageguru!1mpu.dpn.g 17/04/12(Wed)08:50 No. 120769

Just my 2 cents but he should have just DMCA'd the link source, and not simply the place where a link shows up.

I can see a valid DMCA if it was an attachment to the post itself, but it wasn't.

Lately, it repeatedly gives me the 404 page for days and doesn't appear in /tg's catalog, no idea what's up.
