What if:

The person chained up is your one true love.

She has been possessed by the spirit of malevolence that is intent on destroying mankind.

Kill your one true love to save humanity

Set her free, and let the spirit destroy humanity.

If she is killed everything goes back to normal.

If she lives, the malevolent spirit will certainly reward your kindness to it by allowing you eternal bliss with each other.

That's the entire point of this thread. As anyone who's still alive realizes, they have never died before. What if it's impossible to kill yourself from your own perspective? I've never died, you've never died. How the fuck can we know it's even possible? In our own mind, we may very well keep going until the end of time, where as other people see us die, and it creates alternate realities.
