Why does wikipedia think the effective range of a 5 is less than 30 yards when they think the effective range of 9mm is 50m?

Probably because the model 6, being a submachine gun would jump around a lot more if chambered in 45, due to more recoil and a greater bolt mass than if chambered in the other cartridges.
