Asus tablet type password to decrypt storage Kay 15/08/24(Mon)04:17 No. 21919 ID: d28cb6 [Reply]

I need help with my Asus tablet
One day I used it and it worked fine then couple days later I turned it on and it went to a screen that says type password to decrypt storage but we never put any passwords on it. I tried hard reset and it don't respond to holding down the buttons it just boots back to the type password to decrypt storage screen. Can someone please help?

you got virused, nuke that shit man.

Anonymous 15/09/23(Wed)17:08 No. 21940 ID: 21820b

Is right. It's the only way to be sure.

If you're feeling particularly brave and foolish you could try and recover the files. There's several variants of the virus, if you're lucky you can side step the OS and use a LiveCD to access the files directly. If you're unlucky you'll need to use something like PhotoRec to pull the raw data from the disc and bypass the filesystem-metadata. Both of these methods put you at risk of recovering the virus and starting an infinite loop.

My laptop used to connect to my wi-fi. Two days ago things have changed. Now only my ebook reader and mobile see and connect to my wi fi. I've checked wi fi drivers, restarted computer and router few times. 7chan please help I need to do some work on my phd thesis...

Anonymous 15/09/15(Tue)01:13 No. 21934 ID: ade12b

It sounds like you set your wifi network to be hidden. Try checking your network profile settings and set it to be shown on the wifi list.

I'm not sure if you're using Windows/OSX/Linux/whatever, so try doing a search on Google for something like "unhide wifi [your operating system".

The setting you're looking for is probably labeled BSSID and it's on your router.

Unlock phone Anonymous 15/09/04(Fri)22:05 No. 21930 ID: 1a97a9 [Reply]

So, I thought it would be a piece of cake to unlock this cellphone I just bought, but I just can't seem to find a free code generator anywhere, I even missed one of 3 tries I think, introducing some fake ass code in it.
My cellphone is a Nokia 208 (I need buttons) and I'm in Argentina. Any tips or ideas or anything?

Anonymous 15/09/12(Sat)03:32 No. 21932 ID: 958a5f

You'll need to get a replacement IMEI code or it can be tracked post. Post the 15-digit IMEI (Dial: *#06#), NOT the 14-digit MEID + network carrier and I'll post possible replacements (if you're paranoid about getting "hacked" leave the carrier and I'll generate non-carrier specific ones (about 120 in all)).

The right button on my old mouse was starting to get a bit borked so replaced it... only to have the cursor dance around like a hoochie girl.
I checked the drivers and also found out that on windows 7 had this problem (and a solution)

but then it started again.
-any idea?
Using win 7 and a generic wired mouse
I replaced it and the problem

Have you tried it on a plain white sheet of paper? Not all surfaces are treated equally by optical mice.

I have it on an actual mouse pad.
The desk is kinda fucked up so it needs that.

Any ideas on how to create a facebook and activate without using your phone number? I've been looking into trying to setup a free VoIP service to handle it like someone in this video I found did. No luck yet, Idk if facebook just blocks all SIP numbers or whatever (I don't really have much indepth knowledge about phone systems) He was using "Express Talk" maybe I've just set it up wrong.

Reason being for all of this, I just want to make an account to run a page without having to be profiled through things like instant checkmate and other things that comb through connections or what not. I understand this might be a futile situation, but if anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate it.

Anonymous 15/08/20(Thu)23:15 No. 21918 ID: d2eca6

I mean, if push comes to shove just go buy the shittiest tracfone possible and set up an account with that. Depends on how much it's worth to you I guess.

Been given a 'new' PC and I want to give it a fresh start but there's a hitch.

I want to reinstall the OS (Vista Home Premium...) but I've got no CD (Product Key's not an issue), where's the best place to get an ISO for free without having rootkits coming out of every port?

Already checked the HD and there's no recovery partition so there's no luck there.

Halp me! I cant reach settings to downgrade to previous version. Does anyone know how to do it without working windows menu?

Anonymous 15/08/04(Tue)16:20 No. 21909 ID: c95b1e

There's a sub-menu in the update settings that allows you to rollback to a prior version. Not on 10 at the moment but I'll be able post screen-shots in a few hours.

Could you try elaborate on "without working windows menu?". I'm confused as to what you mean, have you tried Ctrl+Alt+Del and ending explorer.exe then restarting it?

Its ok now, i found out how to fix this error. And no, i could not use my laptop with this error cause nothing works.

Anonymous 15/08/05(Wed)05:56 No. 21913 ID: 10d6c2

At home 10 won't get past a certain point so I have to reset it in the middle of the upgrade, at which point it rolls me back to 7. I went so far as to create USB install media and run the upgrade off that. Instead of hanging it BSODs with clock watchdog timeout at the same progress point. Says it's going to restart automagically, doesn't, so I reset it... and it rolls back to 7.

I just wonder if Microsoft wrote WiFi Sense or if the NSA wrote it for them. Transmit everyone's WiFi network's physical location, name, & password to a US server? Sounds like a wet dream for US law enforcement.

I've moderately fucked myself as I just installed a new MB on a win7 system and now it won't boot. I have tried switching the SATA to both IDE And RAID with no luck.

I want to keep this instal of the OS if possible and know there is a way to do it with a windows rescue disk /USB as well as the MB drivers on USB but am not exactly sure how to go about it.

There are tools out there that will impersonate the router, de-authenticate the system with the legitimate MAC address (so its no longer connecting to the ap/router because the ap/router just told it to go fuck off), then switch to that device's MAC address and connect to the actual router in it's place. After that point the system with the legitimate MAC address will no longer be able to connect, because the other device has an active session and only one device on the network can have the same MAC address at the same time.

MAC filtering is worthless. If you want real security implement 802.1x, with MAC filtering you're just creating more work for yourself with nothing to show for it.

Anonymous 15/08/04(Tue)04:49 No. 21907 ID: 5d3666

Well it worked..
Plugged the USB into the router USB port and connected to the router and changed settings.

Good to know but I'm staying clear of Win 10 for now. I don't like the fact that it can turn on security features (as well as a lot of other stuff)
No. 21906
I've kept the MAC filtering but also have instituted a password.
I do have a bit of oddness as sometimes my comp (which has a wired connection) completely drops contact. I need to reboot bot the modem and router (in that order) to get connected again.

Anonymous 15/08/05(Wed)05:49 No. 21912 ID: 10d6c2

Sounds like a problem with either your modem and/or router. Probably the latter. I'd replace the latter with a router that supports an open source firmware like Tomato, OpenWRT, or DD-WRT. If the problem keeps happening then you know the modem is a piece of shit.

Roll20 has ruined firefox Anonymous 15/07/22(Wed)23:15 No. 21890 ID: a13399 [Reply]

So I dunno if you people know about Roll20 but my issue is that since I started to use the site FF has started to glitch out in a terrible manner blacking out chucks of the screen, blacking out completly, freezing on a single screen and not loading larger images.
Today it has become almost unbearable.

Wat do?

What other browse could I use? I don't sympathize with chrome.

Its rather easy to use, dosn't have much fuctionalities for games with unusual mechanics but I'm sure you won't e playing that.

Anonymous 15/07/24(Fri)23:18 No. 21897 ID: 10d6c2

Purely as a test it doesn't matter WHAT browser you use, whether Chrome, Safari, Opera, IE, PaleMoon, whatever.

The object isn't to switch to it, just figure out if it's purely a FF phenomenon or something infesting your entire system. The latter would be far more malware-ey than just a bugged FF profile.

Anonymous 15/07/26(Sun)01:32 No. 21899 ID: a13399

Just used IE with Roll20 and some pages that always go glitchy plus FF running at the same time. IE ran smoothly all the time.

I'm going to update FF and if the problem persists I'll make a new profile.
