Apparently thuman epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) overexpression occurs in 20%–25% of all breast cancers and it’s associated with a poor prognosis.

Can a multifunctional trimodal combination (chemotherapeutic agent, molecular targeted therapy and HSP90 inhibitor) polymeric nanoparticle more effectively, less toxically treat HER2-positive breast cancers than care as usual?

Can we get a thread on anti-aging and lengthening lifespans?

Any possibilities, and problems with those possibilities. And ways to get around said problems. And more problems. And repeat. Until we get to even a slightly plausible solution.

Then, maybe somebody like Qin Shi Huang will say, "Hey, maybe if we try to make this better, it will work in a few thousand years!"

First time on /sci/, so bear with me.

Okay, so cells that can replentish their own telomeres is a problem.
Is there a way to utilize viruses as a method of introducing a set number of new telomeres to cells? If someone had weekly injections of telomere transporters that affected, say, 10M random cells in the body, then wouldn't this avoid the cancer hell path and still give the genome some padding for splits?

The trick to lengthening human lifespan lies within the active regeneration chemical that lies within blood.

The younger the person, the more of the chemical exists within the person.

Currently, the only way to gain access to this chemical's beneficial properties in order to apply it's use to lengthen lifespans is to receive repeated blood transfusions from someone 10 or over years younger than the subject that has a compatible blood type.

Of course this is subject to the chance of rejection.

Other than this, research is currently underway to try to recreate this chemical in a lab environment.

If this is not possible, blood transfusions may be the only way.

Of course this explains the myth of vampires, so enjoy this new knowledge that has in fact been kept secret for a long long time.

I'm currently building a switch cabinet or whatever it's called, its supposed to operate a servo motor and an asynchron motor. One of the tasks is to use a relay for the emergency stop, and it's supposed to be wired so that the ES has an NO and an NC switch. When ES is pushed, the relay will lose contact with the contactors. I kinda get that part, but why not just have two NC switches hooked up to the contactors? What exactly is the point of messing around with the relay?

Also, if i could get a quick word on how the wiring described on this relay (Jokab rt9) works, i'd be more than thankful. I assume i just hook it up the way it's described, but i don't fully understand the logic behind it. Seems more reasonable to me to just go with 2 NC switches and skip the relay altogether.

This might seem like an idiotic question, but i'd like to find out the science behind sounds and what not. Such as in music.
For example, if a catchy tune could be broken down into numbers, i would like to know how.
I also know that if it was that easy, people would already be doing it.

To be perfectly honest, i know nothing about the subject, but i have to start somewhere.
So my very first step is asking you guys.
I will learn more in time of course. This was just the first place i thought of asking, because i assume you won't get angry at me.

good questions. well, when something is distorted, for this example we'll use a distortion effect on an electric guitar or something, the effect adds harmonic and inharmonic overtones or partials [so, more frequencies, more complexity to the actual sound wave] to the signal, and may alter the main harmonics, which creates a different timbre [or.. texture, sort of how it sounds].

look into acoustics if you wanna know about sound waves and how they work and how they bounce around.

look into human psychology, auditory processing, and psychoacoustics if you wanna know about how sound works with our brains and why we like certain sounds and dislike other sounds.

look into sound design if you wanna learn how to create sounds yourself.

How do i find a new speed of two objects that are spinning on top of a merry-go-round? If both objects are on a merry-go-round (on the edge) at a certain speed in meters per second, and one object decides to move to the center of the merry-go-round whilst still spinning. What would be the new speed, with a given radius of the merry-go-round of course. I know I have to use the angular momentum and the momentum formulas. Is there any other formulas that i should considered?

By the way--those two objects are humans, all i know is that the speed would definitely increase.

You've confused yourself already, you're not looking at momentum you're looking at speed.

Find you angular speed: w=v/r
This is a constant and won't change unless the merry-go-round speeds up/slows down.

You've got w you've got your new radius, if you can't figure the rest you've got problems.

You can create a human-level intelligence robot by copying the human nervous system. You can do this either by using a radioactive dye that specifically adheres to neurons, or by injecting the human body with nanites (micromachines) which attach themselves to the neurons without harming the subject and report the location and orientation of the neurons. My idea for actually creating the robot is using a gel for material that melts when heated, then heating it and spraying it with synthetic neuron nanites which swim to their needed positions. You can synthesize simpler versions of neurotransmitters that work with the neuronal nanites to imitate the chemical aspect of the human brain.

If you create nanites that can harmlessly adhere to neurons, this opens the possibility of direct-brain interfaces and stimulation. You can also copy the brain alone to create a computer, just be sure to train the brain of the subject in advance by putting them in a sensory isolation tank/chamber where they have nothing to do except interface with a computer and perform the tasks given to them as a computer would.

I will post again in this thread detailing my up-to-date idea for a superrobot/mecha and my idea for immortality.
